It`s something special for a school having a Comenius-Project for people with hard-of-hearing disabilities. You maybe wonder how it has happened that youngsters with more or less problems in communication want to be in touch with others who speak a foreign language and/or sign.

Well, they are probably as curious as others too. The students who join are open-minded and want to know about the customs and traditions in other countries and vice versa to show the foreign youngster their own ways of behaving. So we have got the chance to learn from each other.

If I think about our joint project with the Hungarian, Turkish and Polish youngsters and grown-ups  -  namely to perform Caliph Stork  -  then it tells to me that cultural encounters can take place with fun, childlike curiosity and the willing to try something new. And so far our experience has shown linguistic barriers can also be reduced through reciprocal efforts.

In this spirit I wish the Comenius-Project good success further on.
